Meet our Doctors

Dr Emma King
MD/FRACGP/BSc(First Class Honours)
Originally from Perth, I moved to Adelaide more than 10 years ago to complete my medical studies at Flinders University and now consider myself a South Aussie.
I originally completed an Honours degree in Pathology at the University of WA. Subsequent to this, I was the Manager of a start-up biotherapy company and then worked as a Business Consultant in both Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
After completing a Doctor of Medicine (MD), I worked across the Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals before completing my training in General Practice. I have worked as a GP in Adelaide, Gawler and most recently, Nhulunbuy in East Arnhem Land, NT.
I love general practice and working in remote Australia has allowed me the privilege of contributing to lives of my fellow community members and their families. I have relocated back to beautiful Mt Barker with my family in order to be able to continue to practice rural medicine.
I practice a broad range of medicine including men’s and women’s health, paediatrics, management of chronic conditions and am an Obstetric Shared Care provider. I have particular interests in mental health, women’s health, weight loss management and am pursuing further qualifications in Lifestyle Medicine. I am also interested in Aboriginal Health and have worked in remote locations in the NT.
I am an Academic at Flinders University teaching medical students, as well as a Supervisor and Medical Educator of doctors completing their GP training.
I enjoy spending time with my family (mostly at skate parks and BMX tracks), yoga, cooking, travel, movies and a good TV series.
