Fees

Changes to our fees and bulk billing policies commencing Wednesday 1st November 2023

Our standard gap is $50.00, with a reduced gap of $40 for Health Care card holders.

Valid Pensioner Concession Card, Children under 10 and GP Management Plans/Chronic Disease Management will continue to be bulk-billed.

A standard consult fee is $91.20, with a gap of $50.00 and Medicare rebate of $41.20.

We require the full payment for your consultation at the time of the appointment. We use the Medicare Easy Claim system, which allows you to pay your account and receive your Medicare rebate straight back into your bank account.

Mount Barker and Balhannah Medical Clinics are a mixed billing practice. All bulk-billing is at doctor’s discretion, and one doctor bulk billing does not guarantee that another doctor will.

GP Management Plans and Chronic Disease Management will continue to be bulk-billed.

Phone consults incur standard billing fees. After your phone consult, one of our reception staff will contact you to pay your account over the phone.

We have always prided ourselves on providing a high level of care for all patients. Over the past 10 years, there has been a significant increase in the cost of running a quality general practice. During this time, the Federal Government has only provided very small increases to the Medicare rebate. This has meant that the Medicare rebate is now inadequate and no longer covers the full cost of a GP consultation.
