GENERAL PRACTITIONER OBSTETRICIAN

Delivery, Caesarean Section, Antenatal Consults & Shared Care
I have lived in South Australia for most of my life, although I was born in Darwin. I graduated from Medicine at the University of Adelaide in 2006 and then worked at the Lyell McEwin Hospital for 3 years. During this time I undertook training in Obstetrics and completed my D.R.A.N.Z.C.O.G. (Diploma in Obstetrics). I commenced my specialist GP training in 2010 at Murray Bridge and mid 2011 I had achieved both my Fellowship in General Practice (F.R.A.C.G.P.) and my Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics (D.R.A.N.Z.C.O.G. Adv).

Since 2011 I have been working at Mt Barker Hospital as a GP Obstetrician and delivering babies. It has been, and continues to be, a wonderful experience! I love the continuity of care that GP Obstetrics allows - not just for pregnancy & postnatal care, but also for the whole family.

In 2018 I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). My interest in lactation began during my obstetric training: However, struggling to feed my own two children make me realise how hard it is to find good, evidence-based advice & support when things are not going well.

My professional passions are obstetric & mother-baby care during the first year of life. Areas that I specialise in include breastfeeding medicine, infant sleep, unsettled infant behaviour, maternal anxiety & depression, and women's health more broadly. I love to see mother-baby teams thrive & feel I am expertly placed to give the help that is needed.
